WHOA! How can it be December already?! And even worse, I haven’t blogged since March. Well we all know what one of my New Year’s resolutions will be. Stay tuned for more updates. But in the meantime, lets talk about Shutterfly. We have used shutterfly.com in the past for many photo projects. My favorite shutterfly product is the custom cover photo books. I have made several to showcase memories of our children and various trips we have taken. They are easy to make and turn out great! We have also made photo cards like this one…

Now lets talk about Christmas Card. We love making and receiving Christmas photo cards! We have made one every year since Will was born (minus the year that Luke was born when essentially his birth announcement was our Christmas card for the year. See above). This year we plan to use a design by Shutterfly for our Christmas card. We hope to receive a Christmas photo card from all of you!

Don’t ask why, but I really like pictures with a stark contrast of dark vs. light. Now that the sun is actually showing its face after this brutal start to the year, I grabbed yet another opportunity to snap some shots of the boys.

I even dug up an old picture that is one of my favorites of Will.

Playing in the Snow

We got about 5-6 inches of snow over the last few days. Thursday night, when most of the snow had accumulated, we took the boys out in it. It was Luke’s first time in the snow and it was Will’s first time to not cry in the snow. Luke, however, did cry. He was not a fan of the cold, wet stuff. I don’t think he enjoyed the ice cold wind blowing in his face either.

Of course, we had to go look up all of the pictures that we took when we had Will in the snow the first time. Let’s just say there is an ENORMOUS difference in the amount of pictures taken!

I do enjoy the snow, but I am sick of it being booger-freezing cold outside. I guess our current weather really knocks down some of the global warming arguments. All I can say is I am ready for a heat wave!

Christmas Program

Will and Luke had a Christmas program at their daycare. It was very cute! I had to post some pictures from it. Will’s class sang ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Joy to the World.’ Since the kids only go to daycare about two days a week, Will didn’t really get to practice at school a lot. We tried to learn the songs at home but we only made it through the first verse of each song. I don’t even know more than that! All the babies in Luke’s class were given bells and they played a recording of ‘Jingle Bells’ and the babies shook the bells. It was adorable!

Christmas #1

I am the worst blog updater ever! Charlie has been off and we have been enjoying doing a whole lot of nothing. Many more blog updates will be coming…

We started our Christmas celebrations very early this year due to my mom and stepdad moving to Colorado. So, in order to have Christmas with them, we had to celebrate the first week in December. Since Charlie and I are both of the procrastinating kind, we didn’t even have our tree up yet! And of course, I insisted on having a tree up and decorated before any presents were opened. I mean, come on! It’s Christmas! So, Grammy and Papaw were able to share in those festivities as well.

Christmas Party 2009

Friday night we spent the evening at a Christmas party hosted by our great friends, Mike and Julie. This year was their second annual Christmas party. Last year, we all brought gifts to sponsor a family for Christmas. This year, we brought gifts to donate to a local community organization called Shepherd Community Center. Everyone there were girls (and a guy) that I work with and their spouses. It is always a lot of fun when we get to spend time together outside of work. Santa even dropped by for a visit with the kids!

Cal, the husband of my friend Teri, had to stand in for Santa at the last-minute because the daughter of the man who was supposed to be Santa was having a baby. Cal was such a great Santa! (Thank you so much Cal!!!). Will absolutely LOVED seeing Santa. He was so excited and Santa even let Will hold his bells while the other children sat on his lap.

Happy Birthday Luke!

Last weekend we made a trip home to Evansville to celebrate Luke’s first birthday. It was a lot of fun to see our family and the boys had a blast playing with their cousins. Instead of cake, I made wheat-free (and dairy-free) cupcakes. I got the recipes from Elana’s Pantry and made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes out of coconut flour (although, I did use store-bought icing). Taking into account that there were none left, I think they turned out pretty well ( I made about 50!). I really hope Luke grows out of his allergies, but, in the meantime, we will just eat some tasty wheat-free treats!

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to Luke’s party and help us celebrate one year with our little man. It still can’t believe how quickly this year has passed!

iPhone Picture Dump

I grabbed all the pictures off of my iPhone recently and thought I would share a few. It’s nice to have a camera in your pocket to catch things you otherwise would not, even if the quality leaves much to be desired.

I caught this gem a while back in the Greenwood Mall parking lot. We’re thinking of a similar paint job for Candice’s Camry.

Candice’s step-dad, Bill, Will and myself went to redneck heaven a few weeks back. Ironman is a four-wheeler and dirt bike race in the middle of nowhere (Crawfordsville, IN). Here is a picture of a pack of guys deciding whether they should climb “Ironman Hill” or not.

Will had a blast even though it was cold and wet.

This weekend has been exceptionally nice outside, so Will and I went on a bike ride yesterday. We played on one of the playgrounds in Hummel Park, and then we threw some rocks into the stream.
